Industry Leading Simulation Solutions for Manufacturing Processes

MSC Software offers solutions that that help make manufacturing more effective by helping reduce cost and overall time. With a highly easy-to-use GUI, engineering professionals can achieve accurate results that allow them to deliver even before the stipulated time.

Several industries such as aerospace, metal and metallurgy, shipment, railways, automotive etc. are utilizing the capabilities of MSC’s Manufacturing Simulation solutions including Simufact, Simufact Additive, Simufact Forming and Simufact Welding.

Key Solutions

Simufact

Considered an industry leader for simulation in metal manufacturing process chains, Simufact helps optimize processes related to metal forming, mechanical and thermal joining, and additive manufacturing.

Manufacturers can benefit greatly from Simufact’s ability to rein in costs and cut down on time to market without compromising on accuracy of results.

Simufact Additive

With Simufact Additive, engineers can predict distortion and residual stresses in components at the beginning of the product development cycle, thereby ensuring better product quality.

Process control variables help simplify the 3-D printing process and optimize material wastage and time. Analyse and explore material selection, power vs. speed, powder characteristics, build path / hatching pattern, and support Internal structures using Simufact Additive.

Additionally, Simufact Additive allows engineers to predict shrinkage and warpage of components, analyze residual stresses, and detect the optimal location of a part, among other functionalities.

Simufact Forming

Simufact Forming comes with a diverse range of forming technologies with 3D representation of all the tools and parts. This presents a realistic view of processes and helps engineers to simulate the kinematics of a machine. They can also assess non-linear material behaviour such as plasticity, rate dependency, and temperature effects.

Through an user-friendly GUI, Simufact Forming engineers can analyse the friction and contact between tools and forming parts, as well as various thermal processes.

Other capabilities include the ability to perform cold forming and hot forging simulations as well as simulations for sheet metal forming, rolling, ring rolling, open die forming, heat treatment, etc.

Simufact Welding

MSC Software’s Simufact Welding allows engineers to simulate complex welding processes including multiple welding sequences. The software can predict distortion of components, especially during phase transformations, and help explore the various properties of weld seam. It enables engineers to accurately simulate and rectify welding defects such as hot cracks at early stages of product development.

Simufact Welding can be coupled with Simufact Forming to model various process chains with upstream and downstream welding processes. Its ability to allow easy data transfer helps engineers understand the forming history and analyze the strength of welded seams.
